Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Adult members now all make the same Promise. This promise is renewed as girls progress through the movement. There are also EIGHT Guide Laws, which Brownies follow too, instead of having their own as they have in the past.

At Brownies there are two main challenge levels; 8Up which is a two part badge usually covering the first two years as a Brownie and Challenge 9. For more information on the Brownie programme have a look at the GirlGuiding New Zealand website
We are girls aged 7 - 10. Lots of us were Pippins before becoming Brownies. We like to do many activities. In 2005 we have been working on the Our Rights and Our Responsibilities challenge as well as Themes and Specialised and Unit Badges. We joined with 37th Wellington Brownies for an indoor camp in June. It was fun. For most of us it was our first Brownie camp. In November a lot of us also went to the District Camp. Some of us even got to sleep in tents there. We have an awesome leader and have had a great Ranger helper and Guide helper too. We are looking forward to getting to know our new Ranger and Guide helpers in 2006, and doing lots more fun stuff together.
Lots of us were also Pippins before becoming Brownies. We enjoy playing games, bush walks, outdoor activities, crafts, going on trips, camps and sleepovers and getting badges. In 2005 we have been working on Themes, Bear Patches, other clauses of our 8Up badge. We went for a visit to the supermarket bakery for part of the Our Rights and Our Responsibilities challenge. We had a sleepover at a local Guide Hall and a lot of us went to the District Camp as well. It was great fun, some of us were able to sleep in tents there too. We have had two great leaders this past year as well as a Ranger and a Guide helper. For 2006 we are starting with one leader and are looking forward to sharing lots of fun together.

We are a smaller group, but we still have heaps of fun. Lots of us were Pippins before we came to Brownies too. We have two cool leaders and have had a great Ranger helper for the past couple of years, we will miss her in 2006. We are looking forward to another year of fun together.
