GirlGuiding Rangers

community action, camping, hiking,

Guides, Brownies, Rangers and Adult members now all make the same Promise. This promise is renewed as girls progress through the movement. There are also EIGHT Guide Laws, instead of the ten we have had in the past.

I promise,
With the help of my God, to be true to myself,
to do my best to help my country,
and to live by the Guide Law.

As a Guide I will try to:
*be honest and trustworthy,
*be friendly and cheerful
*be a good team member
*be responsible for what I say and do
*respect and help other people
*use my time and resources wisely
*face challenges and learn from experiences and
*care for the environment

At Rangers there are two main challenge levels; Peak Award and Queens Guide. Rangers are also able to work towards their Young New Zealanders Challenge Awards (formerly Duke of Edinburgh Award). For more information on the Ranger programme have a look at the GirlGuiding New Zealand website

What goes on in our unit ?

Onslow Rangers

We have 11 girls aged 13 and 14. Most of us have been Pippins, Brownies and Guides before linking to Rangers. We are still learning about the Ranger programme and we have two great leaders. We enjoy cooking (and eating), crafts and camping.
